How to Add an Assistant

Only for Dolly Helpers

If you are a Helper and are interested in partnering with a friend, co-worker, or a family member to help you out on 2 Person Dollys as your Assistant, you have the ability to do just that!

Having an Assistant (must be 18 or older) will change your account to a Team and give you the ability to request 2 Helper Dollys as a Team. There are a few steps needed to take before you are allowed to bring an Assistant on Dollys. You will still be able to work with other Helpers and Hands as you see fit, as seen on the image below.

Assistant Requirements

1. Must be 18 years of age or older
2. Assistants do not need a Driver's License, but they must have a state ID (or another valid ID)in order to pass the background check.
3. Assistants MUST possess a valid SSN in order to pass the background check.

Step 1: Access and Submit the Assistant Application from your Helper Dashboard

Visit your Helper Dashboard (helpers.dolly.com) and open the menu in the top-right corner. In the menu there will be a link to the Assistant Application. Have your assistant complete the form or easily share it with them. After submitting the application, the applicant will receive a text message to keep an eye on their email for the next steps.

        

The Assistant application link is NOT located within the Helper app, you will need to login to helpers.dolly.com, on a computer or mobile device, to access the application link.

Note: The Assistant Applicant/Person Interested MUST use an email address and phone number that has not been used previously for any Dolly Application. Failure to do so can result in automatic rejection or the application getting lost. Please email [e-mail] if you have questions about the status of someone's assistant application.

Step 2: Assistant Applicant Submits Documentation

Our team will send a couple of emails to the Assistant applicant to receive more information and submit to a background check. 

Step 3: Approval as Assistant

When approved, the Assistant and Helper will receive emails and texts detailing that the Assistant is approved and changes have been made to the Helper's account. Additional assistants beyond the first approved assistant will be notified of their approval but the Lead Helper may not be. If the Assistant has received word of their approval, they are good to go.

Please note: Assistants become your subcontractor and do not receive payment from Dolly. Assistants do not have access to the Dolly Helper app. Use of any person other than your approved Assistant while on Dollys will result in deactivation of your account. 

As a team, You are only permitted to bring ONE of your approved assistants to a scheduled Dolly. Bringing multiple approved assistants will result in a suspension/deactivation of your account.

I'm currently a Hands or Helper, can I become a Helper's Assistant?

Yes, if you are currently a Dolly Hands or Helper and you're interested in working with a specific Helper a lot you have the ability to become their Assistant to form a Team. 

Here's how the process works: The Dolly Helper Team needs to get confirmation from both you and the Helper that both of you want to become a Team. We'll share the Assistant Application Link with you to fill out. You will need to use a different email address than you currently use with Dolly to fill out the application.

Once Dolly receives confirmation that you have submitted the proper Assistant Application, we will notify the Helper that they have become a Team Helper. You will receive a text and email that they are now an Assistant. 

You will still have the ability to request your own Dollys as a Hands. If the Helper requests a Dolly with their Assistant, they must be sure that you are available. 

For Dollys where you will act as an Assistant,  you will not be able to see those Dollys in their Helper app, only the Lead Helper will be able to see the Dolly Details.
