Yes, Dolly can haul away your unwanted furniture and oversized items. You can book this as a standalone service, or on top of another Dolly service (e.g. after getting a couch delivered from a store, get your old couch taken to the dump). Below are instructions on how to set up both.
Dump Fees
In some cities, dumps impose a fee for disposing of items. If this is the case for your Dolly, Helpers will pay the cost out of pocket, then upload a receipt of the charge to your Dolly details. The cost of that charge will be added to your total for the Dolly.
Loose Items
Unfortunately, we are unable to take loose items (e.g. loose yard waste) directly to the dump. We are happy to take these items if they are bagged or boxed.
Hazardous Materials
We are unable to haul away any kind of hazardous materials. This includes mattresses with bed bugs.
Junk removal as a standalone service
To book a Dolly solely for hauling away items, you will need to know your local dump or transfer station. You are responsible for ensuring the dump will take your items, and be open at the time of your Dolly drop-off.
To set up a standalone junk removal Dolly, select the Other use case when setting up your Dolly, then enter the dump location as the drop-off address.
Junk removal as an add-on
If you're already using Dolly for a task, like a small move or store delivery, you may have the option when booking to add haul away for a fee. You will see this option on the Price page when booking, after you've put in your details for the rest of the move. In this case, you will not need to provide a dump location, as we will automatically assign the closest one to you.
If you don't see the option to add haul-away, we may be unable to do so due to no dump existing within reasonable driving distance.
